2007 National Orange Day Events

ON CAMPUS

Syracuse University will celebrate its 137th birthday this year on National Orange Day, the founding day of the University—March 24, 1870.

To commemorate the occasion there was a campus celebration on Friday, March 23 in the atrium of the Schine Student Center with greetings and remarks by Vice Chancellor and Provost Eric F. Spina, Dean Barry Wells, and SA president, Ryan Kelly ’08, followed by the traditional cake cutting with Otto. Music and entertainment was provided by Z89.

SU students, alumni and friends annually celebrate National Orange Day through community service. On campus, the Office of Alumni Relations worked with a local organization, Partners for Arts Education, on an art supply drive for the Syracuse City School District. See article on event from Syracuse Post-Standard. Here is another article from the Daily Orange.
